Autumn in Trentino: The 10 Best Places to See the Foliage

Lake Caldonazzo is one of the most beloved destinations even off-season. In autumn, its waters reflect breathtaking shades of red and yellow. From the Vigolana plateau, several scenic trails start out, crossing forests of larches and beeches.

Val di Non is famous for its apple orchards, and in autumn the landscape turns golden. Lake Tovel, nestled in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, is one of the most enchanting places to visit in this season. The trek suggested by MIA starts in Ville d’Anaunia and leads to Rifugio Fontana.

In autumn, Val di Fassa takes on a different look, especially thanks to the larches that color the forests. Here you’ll find several trekking routes, such as the trail leading to the well-known Rifugio Contrin.

Lake Molveno, surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, offers relaxing walks and unique views. From here, you can take a hike starting in Molveno and reaching Rifugio Selvata.

Val di Cembra offers breathtaking views thanks to its vineyards. At this time of year, the hills are perfect for admiring the landscape while also combining nature with food and wine experiences. MIA suggests a trek in this valley that leads to Lake Santo.

Val di Rabbi, located in the Stelvio National Park, offers authentic landscapes: dense forests, streams, and waterfalls. The hike to the Saènt Waterfalls is especially spectacular in autumn.
