2. Hike to the Alpine village of Fane
In the heart of the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region in Rio Pusteria lies Malga Fane, considered one of the most beautiful alpine pastures in the entire Alpine region. This unique mountain village, with its traditional huts, a small church, and three refuges, offers a picture-postcard atmosphere and is perfect for families and children.

The starting point is the village of Valles, from where you can easily reach the paid parking area. Trail no. 17 leads through meadows and gentle slopes to Malga Fane in about 1 hour and 40 minutes, following the stream along the way.
For those who wish to extend the hike, from the rocky Schramme gorge you can continue up to Malga Pian di Làbes or Malga Pfannalm, both reachable with about an additional hour of walking.



3. Hike from Mendola Pass to Mount Roen
A panoramic hike without major difficulties, with a few steeper sections, leading up to Mount Roen.

We start from the upper station of the funicular: from here the trail climbs through the forest, passing by Rifugio Genzianella. The route continues towards Rifugio Mezzavia and then reaches Malga Romeno. From there, the final stretch leads up to the summit.

4. Perfect September loop hike: the Pietralba mountain huts
This loop hike is varied and full of charm, perfect for reaching the most well-known huts in the area.

We start from the parking area at the famous Madonna di Pietralba Sanctuary. From here, we take trail no. 1B towards Malga Laab (1,648 m), reached with a pleasant uphill walk.
The route then continues along trail no. 1 to Rifugio Neuhütt, which can be reached in about an hour and a half. After a break, the trail becomes steeper and alternates between forest paths and rocky sections until reaching Malga Monte San Pietro.
The return follows forest road no. 2, which leads back to the starting point.
